Environmental-friendly Technologies to Develop Tinting Systems for Modern Façade Coatings

Abstract:

The necessity to minimise the VOC content is not the only challenge for the formulators of coatings. Coatings must comply with environmental regulations and meet technical specifications. This paper compares different additive technologies for eco-friendly pigment concentrates. The balance between technical needs, esthetic demands and environmental issues are discussed. It also considers the aspect of "green additive" and it influence on pigment concentrates.

Mr.Wernfried Heilen

Mr. Wernfried Heilen obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Applied Coating Sciences in Krefeld, Germany. He joined Tego Chemie Service in 1983 as Technical Service Manager. Currently, he is the Technical Marketing Director. Mr. Heilen has presented many papers at international paint and coating conferences.
